Phuket Race Week

The Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Race Week is held in July of every year, in 2020 the event runs from July 15th – July 19th inclusive and is one of Sailescapes favourite regattas. This year will be the 16th annual running of this event and is firmly established on the Asian Yachting Grand Prix circuit with over 50 yachts competing in many divisions, the event attracts more yachts and crews every year and we are confident this regatta will continue its growth for years to come.

Based at Cape Panwa on the sheltered East coast of the Island and run from the Cape Panwa Hotel the regatta is in the middle of Phuket’s South Westerly monsoon season which tends to give better wind and the occasional short squall to make life more interesting! Courses are always set around the many Islands off Cape Panwa with added interest from wind shifts and lifts.

With the yachts in the bay you are literally 30 seconds dinghy ride to shore where the fantastic parties are held every evening on the beach side in the Hotel Grounds. The Hotel is a lovely 4* and preferential rates are given to regatta competitors, the twin Hotel of Kantary Bay is at the bottom of the Hill and is slightly cheaper but equally as pleasant to stay in.
